Andrew Citrin, founder, Citrin Law Firm
Andy has been involved in many car and truck accident, product liability, and medical malpractice cases that have resulted in substantial verdicts and settlements. Andy has been selected to the Alabama Super Lawyers 2009, the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate. In addition, the firm has been named on the Bar Register of Preeminent Law Firms by Martindale-Hubbell for 10 years running. Andy has tried cases which have resulted in verdicts of $4 million, $2.25 million, $1.8 million, $1.1 million and many other substantial amounts. In addition, Andy has achieved settlements for client-victims of car and truck wrecks, products liability, and medical malpractice for $6 million, $5 million, $4.5 million, $2 million, $1.5 million, and numerous other substantial settlements. Andy concentrates his practice on those killed or seriously injured as a result of the foreseeable wrongful conduct of others.
In addition to his experience as a trial attorney, Andy has vast experience as an appellate attorney in civil cases, having been lead appellate counsel on more than 70 reported appellate decisions in the State of Alabama and elsewhere. From 1991 to 1998 Andy served on the prestigious Alabama Pattern Jury Instruction, a position which required appointment by the Alabama Supreme Court.
Andy is married to the former Patsy Jeanne Little of Mobile, Alabama, and they have four children: Sarah Elizabeth Souther Citrin, (16); Katherine Ruhyer Citrin (14); Andrew T. Citrin, Jr. (11); and Patsy Jeanne Little Citrin (8). The Citrins attend the Church of the Apostles in Daphne, Alabama. Andy has served as a teacher for the Crown Ministries financial course. Andy is a charter member of the Atticus Finch Society, a lawyer-funded endowment which supports the Alabama Law Foundation, a charitable, tax-exempt organization which provides justice for the poor.
Andy obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1986, graduating 7th in his class, cum laude, and receiving the distinguished Curia Honoris award from the faculty of the law school. At Cumberland, Andy served as the Articles Editor for the American Journals of Trial Advocacy and received numerous "book awards" for the highest grade on the final exams of several core subjects. Before Cumberland, Andy attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he served as President of the Sigma Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Andy attended high school in Boca Raton, Florida, at St. Andrews Episcopal College Preparatory School from 1975-1979. Andy grew up in Hollywood, Florida, the fifth of six children to Dr. Yale and Georgia Lee Souther Citrin.

Steven P. Savarese, Jr.
Steven P. Savarese, Jr. returned home in 2006 to his native roots of Daphne, Alabama to follow his passion for the law. The son of legendary football coach Steve Savarese, Sr., Steven's commitment to pursuing justice for his clients through teamwork, a strong work ethic, and most importantly character, class, and dignity were developed at home and on the field—where he and his teammates were led to many victories under the leadership of his father.
Steven earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences with Special Honors from the University of Alabama in 2003. While at the University of Alabama, Steven was a Capstone Scholar and McWane Scholar, a member of the University Honor Program, a recipient of numerous honors and awards and a member and officer of the Delta Chi Fraternity.
Upon graduation, Steven attended the University of Alabama School of Law where he served as Vice-President of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (Alabama Chapter), competed on the University of Alabama National Trial Advocacy Team, and earned the George Peach Taylor Award for excellence in trial advocacy. He received his Juris Doctorate in 2006.
Since beginning his practice, Steven has served as lead and co-lead counsel in numerous cases. His practice areas include eighteen-wheeler trucking accidents, automobile and motorcycle accidents, industrial accidents, product defects, medical negligence, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, nursing home neglect, and fraud.
Steven is admitted to practice law in the state courts of three states—Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi—as well as the U.S. District Court of Southern Alabama. Steven is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Florida State Bar, Mississippi State Bar, Baldwin County Bar Association, Mobile Bar Association, Alabama Association of Justice, where he is a member of the Emerging Leaders, and South Alabama Trial Lawyers Association. He serves on the executive committee of the Mobile County Bar Association and the Mobile Bar Association of Young Lawyers.
Steven is an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where he serves on the Parish Council. Giving back to the community that gave him so much is important to Steven, and he follows through by volunteering his time with the Christ the King Lightkeepers (the youth group of the parish), serves as the Vice-President of Family Promise of Baldwin County, and is a member of SEEDS. Additionally, Steven is a member of the Volunteer Lawyer Program, providing free legal service to citizens in need. In his spare time, Steven enjoys playing softball, basketball, football, running, boating, fishing, and is teaching himself to play the guitar.
Steven resides in Daphne.

Samuel P. "Mac" McClurkin, IV. is a Montgomery native who moved to Spanish Fort in 2006 to pursue his legal career. Mac's commitment to teamwork and a strong work ethic was developed in a home with a rich military background. Mac is the grandson and namesake of legendary fighter pilot, Col. Sam P. McClurkin, Jr., who served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and later as Wing Commander of Craig Air Force Base in Selma, Alabama. Mac's other grandfather, William Harris, served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mac joined Citrin Law Firm in August of 2008. He has served as lead and co-lead counsel in numerous cases. Mac earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Aviation Professional Flight from Auburn University in 2004. While at Auburn University, Mac was a member of the Aviation Honor Society, received numerous honors and awards, and became a member and officer of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Mac holds the following flight ratings: Commercial Pilot, Single and Multi-Engine Land Instrument Airplane, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII) and Multiengine Flight Instructor (MEI). Before law school, Mac served as a corporate airline pilot with Tractor and Equipment Company in Birmingham, Alabama, where he piloted a Cessna CitationJet/CJ as well as a Beechcraft Super King Air. Mac also served as a flight instructor at the Columbus, Georgia and Shelby County, Alabama regional airports, helping numerous students obtain various flight ratings.

Mac is married to Mobile attorney Anne Laurie (Smith) McClurkin, and they attend Spanish Fort Methodist Church. Mac's brother, John McClurkin, is also an attorney. Mac enjoys playing basketball, softball, football, golf and guitar, as well as spending time with his wife, extended family, friends, and his dog.

Betty Cox
Legal Assistant and Bookkeeper
Betty leads our staff with 28 years of extensive legal experience, dedication, and constant professionalism. In 28 years, Betty has worked on cases involving deaths caused by 18-wheelers, automobile and motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, automobile fraud, manufacture liability, family law, insurance fraud, construction accidents, and environmental law—some of which have resulted in multi-million dollar settlements or verdicts.
Andy Citrin was blessed when he hired Betty as his legal assistant and bookkeeper for his new law firm in 1998. She agreed to come on a temporary basis, and 11 years later she is the glue for the Citrin Law Firm staff. Her approach to working with others is that we are all here for a common goal; that is, to achieve a successful outcome for our clients. Betty's ideas and suggestions are highly regarded among the staff and attorneys. Clients know her by name for she is always available to help with any concerns.
Betty was born and grew up in Mobile, the oldest of 6 children. She and her husband of 27 years, have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Betty is an active member of St. Pius Catholic Church.

Tracey Bumpers
Paralegal
Tracey grew up in Daphne and graduated from Daphne High School. Following graduation, she attended Faulkner Community College where she graduated in 2003 with a paralegal degree. For the following five years Tracey worked with defense firms, where she concentrated on nursing home neglect litigation.
When Tracey joined Citrin Law Firm in 2008, she brought five years of invaluable knowledge and experience in defense work to our office. Her insight has proven beneficial to our clients. Tracy corresponds with reputable medical experts to uncover breaches in the standard of medical care. She efficiently gathers the necessary facts to prepare our client's cases for trial or settlement negotiations. Tracey has spent countless hours reviewing documentation, using cutting edge computer techniques, as well as assisting attorneys in the courtroom with cases involving wrongful death, nursing home negligence, motorcycle and automobile deaths and injuries, insurance fraud, product liability, and construction accidents. Tracey's results are respected among attorneys she works with, as well as opposing attorneys.
Fairhope is where she and her husband, Chris Bumpers, have made their home with their daughter, Anna. They are active members of The Church on the Eastern Shore (COTES). Volunteering, cooking, decorating, exercising, Alabama football, and spending time with family, keep Tracey busy outside of the office.

Beedo Latady

Receptionist and Legal Assistant
The Citrin Law Firm team welcomed Beedo Latady in January 2008. She serves the firm in a number of capacities—from runner, receptionist, to legal assistant. Her roles evolve as her skill-sets expand through continuing legal education. Before coming to our firm Beedo was the third grade teacher's assistant at Christ the King Catholic School and had previously held the position of assistant to the president of a multi-state business.
Beedo grew up in Pascagoula, Mississippi and attended the University of Mississippi and the University of Southern Mississippi studying secondary education. In 1993 she moved to Daphne with her family. She and her husband, Richard, have four children—Elizabeth, Richard, Mary Huston, and Michael—all of whom are in college or pursuing their careers. Beedo enjoys researching genealogy, studying the English language and most of all spending time with her family.
